We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Senior Tax Accountant to join our Accounting and Finance team. This is a permanent position where the successful candidate will be responsible for managing and facilitating the accurate preparation and filing of our company's state and federal tax forms. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in business tax strategies, tax compliance, and tax returns. This role requires 5+ years of experience in tax accounting, with a focus on corporate tax returns.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare and review federal, state, and local tax returns to ensure accuracy and compliance with tax laws and regulations.
- Develop tax strategies and policies that help the company improve its financial efficiency, reduce tax liability, and meet compliance requirements.
- Conduct research on tax laws and regulations to stay updated on changes that can affect the company's tax filings.
- Collaborate with internal teams to gather and analyze financial data, ensuring accurate tax reporting.
- Liaise with external auditors and tax consultants as needed, providing necessary information and addressing any issues or queries.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date tax documents and records for the company.
- Assist in the preparation of financial statements, reports, and budgets.
- Provide guidance and training to junior tax accountants and other staff on tax-related matters.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. A Master's degree in Taxation or a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) certification is preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in tax accounting, with a focus on corporate tax returns.
- Proficient in tax preparation software and databases, as well as Microsoft Office Suite.
- In-depth knowledge of federal, state, and local tax laws, regulations, and procedures.
- Strong analytical skills, with the ability to interpret tax laws and regulations, and apply them to company operations.
- Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to handle multiple tasks and meet tight deadlines.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to clearly explain complex tax information to non-accounting staff and stakeholders.
- High level of integrity and professionalism, with the ability to handle sensitive and confidential information appropriately.
